This review highlights examples of successful interventions and opportunities for refining community-wide interventions using social marketing strategies.

Highlights:

This is a systematic scoping review of community-wide interventions (system-level) targeting physical activity. Eligible studies were published between 2007 and 2022. Approximately 56% of the studies reported a positive impact on physical activity.

 

Key literature gaps identified by the study include: lack of fully developed CBPR frameworks, reach among underserved communities, randomized designs, and use of theory.
