Our Landmark Climate Change Peer Review and Selection panel awarded Landmark designation to one new climate change case study and one existing case study last year. Our Flashfood case study is ready for viewing. Publication of the new case study, "Community-Based Flood Early Warning System in Bihar, India" has been delayed to incorporate new data, at the request of the program manager. We've also added three new runner-up climate change related case studies: "E-Scooter Promotions Reduce Car Use and Associated GHG Emissions in Portland, Chicago, and Ottawa", "Reducing Commercial Food Waste in Europe", and "Travel Smart" (air travel).
London’s Ultra-Low Emission Zone Drives Shift to Cleaner Vehicles and Boosts Active Travel to School and Kingston’s High School Transit Pass Program have both been designated Landmark by our transportation peer-selection panel. E-Scooter Promotions Reduce Car Use and Associated GHG Emissions in Portland, Chicago, and Ottawa, one of the finalists, has also been posted. Landmark designation recognizes behavior change approaches and programs considered to be among the most successful, innovative, replicable and adaptable in the world.
If you have been working on or have seen a particularly effective or innovative approach for changing energy or other climate-change-related behaviours, please consider nominating it for Landmark Designation by June 5, 2026. New simplified nomination form. Click here for details.
